About Me
My professional teaching and coaching career began at Michigan State University with a degree in Kinesiology/Physical Education. I taught Physical Education for 13 years and earned a Masters degree in Physical Education from West Virginia University. I coached high school boys basketball for 15 years, with 9 of those being at the varsity level at class A schools. I also coached high school football for 6 years at the varsity and sub-varsity levels. Much of my passion for teaching and training fitness and wellness outside of physical education has come from his own physical transformation. It inspired me to become certified to teach various personal and group fitness formats. I am blessed to have the opportunity to help people achieve their goals and lead a healthier, more fulfilling life. My path has also taken me through some years of sports performance strength and conditioning coaching, including running the program at a local high school. I currently own my own personal performance business in Michigan, living in Novi with my wife and two daughters.

What is the most effective way to lose weight and tone muscle?The most effective approach to weight loss and muscle toning involves a combination of cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and a balanced nutrition. The Power Play coaching program addresses all of these.

How often should I work out to see results?The frequency of workouts depends on individual goals, fitness level, and the type of exercises. Most of our crew does 2-3 C.L.I.M.B. sessions per week along with yoga.

What should I eat before and after a workout?Focus on easily digestible carbs and a moderate amount of protein 30-60 minutes before. After a workout, prioritize protein to aid muscle recovery and include some carbohydrates to replenish glycogen stores.

How can I stay motivated to exercise regularly?Motivation varies, so find what works for you. With Power Play Fitness and Performance Coaching, we set realistic, specific goals, I will vary your routine to keep things interesting, and you'll have a whole Crew of Warriors for accountability. We celebrate small achievements, and recognize that motivation may ebb and flow.

What are the most effective exercises for targeting specific muscle groups?Effective exercises depend on individual goals, but some basics include squats and lunges for lower body, dumbbell chest press press and push-ups for chest and triceps, rows and curls for the back and biceps, and various core exercises for abdominal muscles. C.L.I.M.B workouts are generally efficient for targeting multiple muscle groups simultaneously.
