My journey as a fitness professional began at Michigan State University with a degree in Kinesiology/Physical Education. I taught PE at the high school and elementary levels and also earned a Masters degree in Physical Education from West Virginia University. I coached high school football and boys basketball for 15 years, which has allowed me the opportunity to use my knowledge and skills to train hundreds of athletes.
Much of my passion for teaching fitness and yoga has come from my own results with training. It inspired me to become certified to teach group fitness, yoga and become a personal trainer and strength and conditioning specialist. I am blessed to have the opportunity to help people of all ages achieve their performance goals and lead a healthier, more fulfilling life. I have been training since 2014. I live in Novi, Michigan with my wife and two daughters.
With Power Play, the emphasis is not just on physical exercise but also on comprehensive performance coaching, combining my certified fitness training expertise and seasoned performance coaching. The program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, taking into account their fitness level, health status, and personal objectives.
The fitness component of Power Play is the C.L.I.M.B. workout. These sessions incorporate a diverse range of training modalities, including Cardiovascular work, strength training Lift Intervals, functional Mobility and Balance exercises. Workouts are not only challenging but also engaging, ensuring that "the C.L.I.M.B. Crew" stays motivated throughout their fitness journey. I am highly skilled and dedicated to guiding anyone through safe and effective workouts, fostering a supportive and empowering training environment.
What sets the Power Play program apart is its integrated approach to performance coaching. In addition to physical training, clients benefit from mental and emotional support, goal setting, and personalized strategies for overcoming obstacles. The coaching aspect addresses not only the "how" of fitness but also the "why," helping individuals develop a mindset that fosters long-term success and well-being.
I pride myself on staying at the forefront of fitness trends and scientific advancements. I continuously update my knowledge to provide the most effective and evidence-based training methods.
Whether someone is looking to achieve weight loss, build muscle, enhance athletic performance, or simply improve their overall well-being, Power Play Fitness and Performance Coaching is the ultimate destination for those seeking a comprehensive and transformative fitness experience. With a focus on personalized attention, holistic training, and a commitment to excellence, Power Play empowers individuals to become the best version of themselves, both on the inside and outside.
The most effective approach to weight loss and muscle toning involves a combination of cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and a balanced nutrition. The Power Play coaching program addresses all of these.
The frequency of workouts depends on individual goals, fitness level, and the type of exercises. Most of our crew does 2-3 C.L.I.M.B. sessions per week along with yoga.
Focus on easily digestible carbs and a moderate amount of protein 30-60 minutes before. After a workout, prioritize protein to aid muscle recovery and include some carbohydrates to replenish glycogen stores.
Motivation varies, so find what works for you. With Power Play Fitness and Performance Coaching, we set realistic, specific goals, I will vary your routine to keep things interesting, and you'll have a whole Crew of Warriors for accountability. We celebrate small achievements, and recognize that motivation may ebb and flow.
Effective exercises depend on individual goals, but some basics include squats and lunges for lower body, dumbbell chest press press and push-ups for chest and triceps, rows and curls for the back and biceps, and various core exercises for abdominal muscles. C.L.I.M.B workouts are generally efficient for targeting multiple muscle groups simultaneously.
